    Hello,
I’m seeking advise for my 75 year old mother who was diagnosed 4 years ago with MDS.Rs-5q. She has tried a couple of the chemo drugs with no positive results. Her hgb never gets above a 9 and falls close to a 7 every two weeks until she gets her blood transfusion. Recently her ferritin level was high- above 2500 and her oncologist offered her one last chemo option being decitabine. Does anyone have advise to offer regarding this drug? Her oncologist is not pushing it because he has told her at her age it will have very harsh side effects and she will most likely need full time care in her home (she currently lives alone). Like I mentioned she has tried both elritercept and rytello with no positive results. Any advise on similiar experience would be appreciated.

    Hi Traci,

Has she tried luspatercept or lenalidomide? Clinical trial may also be an option. I put the link to the portal below.
